Only found in Taiwan, the Antrodia camphorata (AC) is a precious fungus that grows on the “Niu Zhang” tree (Cinnamomum kanehirae) –a tree that is listed as a one of Taiwan’s national treasures and is strictly forbidden from being harvested. It is also forbidden to pick the Antrodia camphorata which grows on the Cinnamomum kanehirae. The Antrodia camphorata is extremely rare, and with academic research pointing to its cancer fighting properties, the fungus has become extremely valuable and is held as a national treasure in Taiwan.
This precious Antrodia camphorata is unlike the strains found in general small-scale exhibition halls. In the Timing Antrodia Camphorata Museum you can see the valuable Cinnamomum kanehirae and Antrodia camphorata together, witnessing various stages of growth and experiencing close-up the special scent and red allure of the Antrodia camphorata.
In the museum, three main themes are on display, including the “growth environment”, “cultivation methods”, and “pharmacological activity” of the Antrodia camphorata, with comprehensive introductions provided. As you proceed through the displays, a series of cultivation methods are described, including solid state fermentation, liquid state fermentation, and linden wood substrate cultivation so that you will be left with the insight needed to clearly distinguish between the raw materials and nutritional values of products on the market.
Because of the highly valued triterpenoids, polysaccharides and other properties contained within, Antrodia camphorata (AC) has a significant effect on the immune system and in cancer treatment. The museum displays scientifically validated data in which the constituents of the fruiting body and mycelium of the Antrodia camphorata are compared.
